Subsea Pipeline

Pipeline Designer

JOB ID · SKJ-000002Navi MumbaiFull-time

Concept & Feasibility: Define routing, diameter, wall thickness, and hydraulic capacity.
Route Engineering: Interpret geophysical/geotechnical surveys, plan seabed corridors, crossings, and shore approaches.
Mechanical Design: Calculate burst/collapse resistance, fatigue, buckling, and allowable spans.
Hydrodynamics & Stability: Assess pipeline stability under currents, waves, and trawl loads; specify trenching or rock dumping.
Flow Assurance: Perform hydraulic/thermal analyses, define insulation/heating, pigging, and slugging control.
Materials & Corrosion: Select linepipe materials, coatings, and cathodic protection systems.
Installation Support: Provide specs for S-lay/J-lay/reel-lay methods, shore pulls, and nearshore works.

Integrity Management: Plan inspections, anomaly assessments, and repairs using ROVs and fitness-for-service checks.
Risk & Compliance: Lead HAZID/HAZOP workshops, ensure compliance with offshore pipeline codes.

01
Review geophysical surveys
Interpret seabed data to define safe pipeline corridors and crossings.
02
Develop mechanical design
Calculate wall thickness, buckling resistance, and fatigue limits for subsea conditions.
03
Assess hydrodynamic stability
Ensure pipeline stability under currents, waves, and trawl loads with trenching or rock dumping.
04
Perform flow assurance analysis
Conduct hydraulic and thermal simulations to prevent slugging and ensure operability.
05
Select materials and coatings
Choose corrosion-resistant linepipe materials and define cathodic protection systems.
06
Support installation engineering
Provide specifications for S-lay, J-lay, and reel-lay installation methods.
07
Plan integrity management
Define inspection, anomaly remediation, and repair strategies for lifecycle safety.
