Offshore Structural Engineers — Lead & Senior

About the opportunity

SK Engineering is urgently hiring experienced Offshore Structural Engineers for the following positions:

• 1 Lead Offshore Structural Engineer
• 1 Senior Offshore Structural Engineer

The selected professionals will support the analysis, design and delivery of offshore structures for technically demanding energy and engineering projects.

Candidates must have strong hands-on experience with STAAD.Pro. Preference will be given to immediate joiners and candidates serving a notice period of 0–30 days.

Key responsibilities

• Perform structural analysis and design of offshore platforms, topsides, modules, jackets, equipment supports and associated structures.
• Develop, review and validate structural models using STAAD.Pro.
• Perform in-place, lifting, load-out, transportation, fatigue, seismic and project-specific structural analyses.
• Design structural steel members, connections, foundations and support arrangements.
• Prepare and review design calculations, analysis reports, specifications and other technical deliverables.
• Review drawings and verify consistency between structural models, calculations and issued documents.
• Interpret project specifications, design philosophies and client requirements.
• Coordinate with piping, mechanical, process, civil, electrical and other engineering disciplines.
• Identify technical risks and recommend safe, practical and cost-effective solutions.
• Ensure compliance with project schedules, quality requirements and applicable engineering standards.

Additional responsibilities for the Lead position

• Plan and manage structural engineering activities and deliverables.
• Lead technical reviews and approve calculations, reports and engineering documents.
• Allocate work and provide technical direction to engineers and designers.
• Coordinate with project managers, clients and discipline leads.
• Monitor engineering quality, schedules, resources and technical risks.
• Mentor engineers and promote consistent engineering practices.

Essential qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil, Structural, Offshore or a related engineering discipline.
• Relevant experience in offshore structural engineering within oil and gas, energy, EPC or engineering consultancy projects.
• Advanced, practical proficiency in STAAD.Pro is mandatory.
• Strong understanding of structural analysis, structural steel design and connection design.
• Knowledge of offshore environmental loads, load combinations and structural behaviour.
• Experience preparing and checking calculations, reports and technical documentation.
• Ability to interpret structural drawings, specifications and design criteria.
• Strong analytical, coordination and technical communication skills.

Experience by level

Lead Offshore Structural Engineer

• Significant experience leading offshore structural engineering work.
• Demonstrated ability to review and approve engineering deliverables.
• Experience coordinating multidisciplinary teams and communicating with clients.
• Ability to guide engineers and manage technical risks and schedules.

Senior Offshore Structural Engineer

• Strong independent experience in offshore structural analysis and design.
• Ability to develop and check STAAD.Pro models and engineering calculations.
• Experience coordinating with designers and other engineering disciplines.
• Ability to deliver technically accurate work within project schedules.

Preferred technical knowledge

Experience with one or more of the following will be advantageous:

• SACS
• ANSYS
• Tekla Structures
• AutoCAD
• Navisworks
• Mathcad
• Offshore platform, topside, jacket and module design
• Fatigue, lifting, transportation, seismic and dynamic analysis

Codes and standards

Working knowledge of relevant standards such as:

• API
• AISC
• DNV
• ISO offshore structural standards
• Eurocodes
• Applicable client and project standards

Availability requirement

This is an urgent requirement. Candidates must be:

• Available to join immediately; or
• Serving a notice period of no more than 30 days.
